North Carolina sports betting handle grows 6.3% year-over-year in April

US.- The North Carolina State Lottery Commission has published its sports wagering revenue figures for April. The state’s eight authorized interactive sports wagering operators reported a handle of $612.5 million, marking a 6.3 per cent rise year-over-year, though this is a decrease from the $726.2 million recorded in March 2026.

The report indicates that gross wagering revenue reached $64.5 million, an increase from the $46.8 million generated in April 2025. Estimated tax proceeds amounted to $11.6 million, with player winnings totaling $544.5 million.

For the fiscal year to date, spanning from July 2025 to April 2026, total wagering revenue was $6.4 billion, and gross wagering revenue stood at $675 million. Taxes collected were $121.5 million. Mobile sports wagering was introduced in the state in March 2024.
